Gantt Chart
- Task DependenciesSet dependencies to shift later tasks automatically when a predecessor is delayed
- Working DaysWeekly days off and holidays are skipped automatically
- Critical Path and FloatCalculate the critical path and the number of days each task can be delayed
- Main Chart and SubchartsParent task dates adjust to fit subtasks; links can span charts
- Change LogEach edit records the before and after values, and you can export the log
Problems & solutions
A predecessor slips three days, and the twenty tasks after it must be moved by hand, one by one
Choose from four dependency types. With linking on, successor tasks move along with their predecessors
See the affected scope and number of days right away, with no task-by-task adjusting and nothing missed
A 5-day task becomes 9 days once it crosses weekends and long holidays
Each task can use working days or calendar days, and working days skip holidays per the company calendar
Finish dates line up with actual working days, so no one has to work out long holidays and make-up workdays by hand
Every task is called a rush, yet no one can point to the ones that actually affect the completion date
Calculates the critical path and how many days each task can slip; tasks with no float to spare show a negative number
In meetings you can name the critical tasks and put manpower on them first, without pushing tasks that have float
Parent task dates no longer match the detailed tasks, and no one goes back to correct them
Parent dates stretch to fit their subtasks, milestones can be set manually, and gaps can be aligned in one click
Main chart and detail dates stay in sync with no separate cleanup, and a subtask running past a milestone is easy to spot
Your current schedule is in Excel, so switching systems means re-entering all of it
Arrange your columns to match the Gantt Chart export file and import it. Finished charts can be exported too
Get started without retyping row by row, and export your data anytime with no lock-in
Features
Task hierarchy
A multi-level task tree. Drag to reorder, and promote or demote tasks.
Dependencies
Supports all four types (finish-to-start, start-to-start, finish-to-finish, and start-to-finish), with adjustable overlap (lead) days.
Automatic linking
When on, dragging a predecessor moves the tasks that follow it. When off, tasks are only flagged "off schedule," and your chart stays untouched.
Working days and calendar days
Set per task. Working days automatically skip weekly days off and holidays.
Work calendar
Your company defines weekly days off, holidays, and make-up workdays, and can import the government's official office calendar, with a preview before anything is written.
Critical path and float
Shows how many days each task can slip without affecting the completion date. If it's already too late, the negative number is shown as is.
Parent tasks stretch automatically
Parent dates stretch to fit their subtasks by default. Contract milestones can be switched to manual, and any gap is flagged and can be aligned in one click.
Main chart and sub-charts
One main chart per project, and any task can expand into its own sub-chart. Dependencies can cross charts.
Excel import and export
Import an Excel schedule once its columns match the Gantt Chart export file. You can also export charts to take with you.
Permissions and change log
Set view or edit access chart by chart based on project role. Additions, edits, and deletions all record the before and after and can be exported.
vs. traditional methods
Task dependencies are real links, and delays carry through to later tasks instead of sitting as static colored blocks
Calculates the critical path and float, using the work calendar for working days and make-up workdays
Operations that move many dates at once, such as automatic linking and align-all, are previewed and confirmed before they're written
Changes are staged and written as one batch on save, so everything succeeds or nothing changes
When a calculation isn't possible, the reason is noted instead of a blank, so it isn't mistaken for normal
Who it's for
Site managers and project managers
See at a glance which tasks truly can't slip.
Schedulers and planning engineers
Build schedules with a tool that calculates working days, critical path, and float.
Supervision consultants and project management teams
The schedule is a commitment to outside parties, so every change is recorded.
Teams that already have an Excel schedule
Arrange it to match the export file's columns and import it, with no retyping row by row.
